Environmental Site Assessments

Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) are the basis for any remediation or reclamation activities. They can provide insight into past events that may have occurred on-site, current environmental conditions, and which future actions are required.

Phase 1 ESAs combine file reviews with field site inspections to determine the potential for site contamination and are completed in compliance with provincial guidelines and criteria, by qualified signing professionals. Phase 1 ESAs completed by RREC meet or exceed standards required by Alberta Environment to be included in reclamation certificate applications and are used to develop Phase 2 ESA work plans if required.

Phase 2 ESAs directly address areas of potential concern identified by the Phase 1 ESA and are completed by qualified signing professionals. Phase 2 ESAs completed by RREC meet or exceed standards required by Alberta Environment to be included in reclamation certificate applications and are used to develop Remedial Action Plans if required.
