Subsoil Salinity Tool

RREC professionals certified in Subsoil Salinity Tool (SST) assessments have expertise in Tier 2A and 2B subsoil salinity guideline applications and reporting. The SST estimates the distribution of chloride and sodium within the subsurface using a mass balance approach. Site specific chloride, sodium, and/or sodium adsorption ratio guidelines, calculated using the SST, are applied to subsoil and consider migration pathways to receptors, such as uptake into the root zone and dissolution and migration in groundwater. Modelling salt-impacted sites using the SST can often result in lower remediation costs.
